New Measy U4B firmware fixes Bluetooth issue


Mini PC maker Measy has released a new ROM update for its U4B mini PC. The Measy U4B was one of the first quad-core mini PCs based on Rockchip’s quad-core RK3188 SoC CPU. The firmware update is said to fix an issue with the U4B’s Bluetooth adapter.

Updating the firmware to the device can be done in one of two ways – either by unzipping the file and including the update.img file in the root of your MicroSD card and booting up the device with the card in place.… Read more

New CUBE U30GT2 test ROM firmware with RK3188 SDK2.0 upgrade


Firmware updates based on improvements made by Rockchip to its RK3188 software development kit (SDK2.0) have been slowly making their way to the busload of devices using the popular quad-core SoC CPU.
Now it’s the turn of CUBE’s U30GT2 to receive what’s being described as a ‘test’ version of its upcoming Android 4.2.2 ROM firmware.

HTC One Android 4.2.2 update begins seeding for non-carrier phones


Smartphone maker HTC has finally begun seeding its Android 4.2.2 update to the HTC One smartphones that are designated ‘carrier free’ (ie, unlocked) around the world.
So far, its available in some European countries for the 4G variant. According to AndroidCentral, the HTC One Android 4.2.2 update weighs in at 417MB and rebadges the phone to version 2.24.401.1.
Among the new features the update brings to the One are: battery percentage in the space bar, new & improved Launcher Bar, widget panel rearrangement, auto-exposure and auto-focus improvements for the 4MP camera.… Read more

New Tronsmart MK908 ROM adds OTA update feature


Over-the-air (OTA) updates have been a feature of smartphones for the last few years but it’s a sign of the growing maturity of mini PCs that we’re starting to see the feature appear here as well.

The ENY Technology’s EM6 (also known as the ‘MX’) set-top-box style mini PC has just received a new firmware update, bringing the unit up to the latest Android 4.2.2 release.
