Kimdecent MK31, a Podoor T518-lookalike quad-core mini PC with external antenna

Mini PC brand Kimdecent has come out with its own release of the Podoor T518 called the Kimdecent MK31, a quad-core mini PC with hide-away external Wi-Fi antenna.

The compact USB stick style mini PC features Rockchip’s RK3188 quad-core SoC CPU with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of flash preloaded with Android 4.2 operating system. Storage can be expanded by MicroSD card slot, which is good for up to 32GB per card.

You can expand it or add peripheral devices through the Type-A USB2.0 host port or the microUSB OTG option. There’s a second microUSB port but that’s for DC power only.

The wireless features are uniquely done with the 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 module connected through a moulded hideaway external antenna.

The package includes only USB cable and DC power brick – no extender cable for the HDMI plug. We found this one selling on Aliexpress around $75.

Quad-core USB-stick mini PCs are a dime-a-dozen at the moment and for the most part, models with external antennas should prove to deliver better wireless performance.
