Colorfly CT974 Ivory 3 with Retina I-PS screen, 32GB of storage for $180

colorflyct974Chinese brand Colorfly has been pumping out Android tablets for the last little while but it’s looking like its about to deliver a very decent quad-core model in the upcoming Colorfly CT974 Ivory 3.

It’s a 9.7-inch chassis with iPad-like Retina display made from I-PS LCD technology with 2048×1536-pixel resolution. It’s powered by Allwinner’s A31 quad-core Cortex A7 SoC CPU, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and up to 32GB of on-board flash, preloaded with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. The storage can be expanded via MicroSD card, up to 32GB per card.

The A31 SoC CPU comes with PowerVR SGX544 graphics engine so despite the lower-grade Cortex A7 architecture (compared with Rockchip’s RK3188 and its Cortex A9 build), the A31 should perform well on graphics-intensive apps (read ‘games’).

While there’s no Bluetooth here, you’ll get 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi plus two cameras – a 2MP front-facing sensor and a better 5MP camera on the back.

The battery is a decent 8000mAh capacity Lithium-ion type, although we don’t have details about battery life at this stage.

The Colorfly CT974 Ivory 3 measures 241 x 188 x 11mm and weighs 582grams. The unit was originally announced in July 2013. The 16GB version is expected to sell for Y899 while the 32GB model will sell for Y1099. They’re expected to go on sale in the next four weeks.

NOTE: All specifications are subject to change and may not be correct at time of purchase. Please check before you buy any device that it meets your expectations and requirements.
