CozySwan S400 USB stick mini PC with detachable Wi-Fi antenna

cozyswans400One of the biggest developments in USB stick-style mini PCs over the last few months has been the introduction of external Wi-Fi antennas. However, so far, they’ve only been anchored points – external, yes, but not removable. CozySwan isn’t a mini PC brand we can say we know a great deal about but it looks to be the first brand/retailer to incorporate a removable antenna into this style of mini PC with the launch of the CozySwan S400.

The S400 features Rockchip’s everywhere RK3188 quad-core SoC CPU based on ARM’s Cortex A9 architecture. It comes with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of on-board flash, preloaded with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. The internal storage can be expanded via MicroSD card slot, good for up to 32GB per card.

Wireless networking on this one isn’t bad with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth thanks to CDTech’s CDT-K25931 Wi-Fi/BT chip, however, it’s the externally detachable Wi-Fi antenna that gets the marks here.

You get the standard one USB2.0 host and one microUSB OTG port included. Given what’s included, it looks to be quite reasonable value and you’ll find it online from various retailers for around $80.
