U-SEEK US636 dual-core mini PC with external antenna under $50

useekus636Chinese brand U-SEEK looks to have joined the mini PC market with a dual-core USB stick model called the U-SEEK US636. This one looks to come from the same factory as the CX803 we looked at yesterday with its dual-core SoC CPU and external Wi-Fi antenna.

The US636 is powered by Rockchip’s original RK3066 dual-core Cortex A9 SoC CPU. It’s pretty much identical to the CX803 under the bonnet too with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 4GB of flash storage, preloaded with Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. The storage is expandable thanks to its MicroSD card slot, but according to one reseller we checked, it can only handle 16GB cards (the CX803 promises 32GB support). It’s possible that’s a misprint as most MicroSD card slots, if they’re SDHC, will go up to 32GB.

There’s no Bluetooth on offer but you do get 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi through that external antenna, which should help with signal strength/range.

It features the usual port arrangement of HDMI, Type-A USB2.0 host and microUSB OTG, along with the MicroSD card slot. So far, we’ve seen this retailing on Aliexpress for $49 including shipping, which is about the same mark as the CX803.
