Quad-core Freelander PX2 tablet packs in I-PS panel, 3G, GPS

freelanderpx2Chinese tablet brand Freelander has been churning out GPS-equipped tablets of late and another one has just hit the streets in the Freelander PX2.

This is another 7-inch tablet, powered by MediaTek’s quad-core MT8389 Cortex A7 SoC CPU, one one of the current crop of SoCs with integrated 3G voice/data and as a result, the PX2 can make phone calls. You also get two SIM card slots for that endeavour.┬áIt’s also equipped with a PowerVR SGX544 graphics core and driving the 7-inch 1024×600-pixel I-PS panel, it should be a pretty decent option too.

The MT8389 is accompanied by the now-standard storage cache of 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of flash, preloaded with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system (a 2GB/16GB mix would’ve been better). That storage is expandable through the MicroSD card slot, up to 32GB per card.

The battery is a 3200mAh Lithium-polymer built-in unit but we have no details on battery life.

There’s good networking support with Bluetooth 4.0, along with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. External storage can be applied through the microUSB OTG port and there’s a miniHDMI port to output videos and apps to your big-screen TV.

At this stage, we don’t have pricing details or date of release but we expect it to be soon and we’ll bring those details as they come to hand. In the meantime, you can take a closer look at the phone at link-create.
