ICOO ICOU7LP 7-inch tablet has more resolution than iPad mini

icooicou7Chinese tablet maker ICOO has launched a new 7-inch tablet with an I-PS screen with more resolution that iPad mini called the ICOO ICOU7LP.

The new tablet features a 7.0-inch touchscreen panel built from in-plane switching (I-PS) LCD technology with 1280×800-pixel resolution, powered by Actions Semi’s ATM7029 quad-core Cortex A7 SoC CPU. The panel is driven by the chip’s Vivante GC1000 graphics engine.

As for storage, the ICOO ICOU7LP comes with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of on-board flash, preloaded with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. You can also expand the storage through the device’s MicroSD card slot, up to 32GB per card.

There’s no HDMI on this one or Bluetooth, but you do get 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless networking and the battery is a sizeable 3.7V/3500mAh Lithium-ion type, although there are no details available on battery life. You also get two cameras but don’t expect too much – a basic VGA front-firing sensor and a 2MP camera on the back.

The main features on this one are the quad-core CPU and high-res I-PS screen for the $120 price. It is missing a few things but at this price, you could probably forgive a couple of those (well, I think I could).

All-up weight is said to be 350grams and it’s available online through sites like banggood.com for around the $US120 mark.
