Colorfly U781 Q1 super-thin quad-core tablet goes on sale today

u781q1Chinese tablet maker Colorfly has finally begun shipping its thinner-than-ipad-mini tablet, the Colorfly U781 Q1.

The iPad mini look-alike has the same basic shape as Apple’s smaller tablet but is only 6.8mm thick (the Apple iPad mini is 7.45mm thick).

Selling for Y899 (approx $149), the U781 Q1 features a 7.85-inch chassis and 1024×768-pixel I-PS touchscreen panel. The processor is accompanied by 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB on on-board flash, preloaded with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. Storage can be expanded to a hefty 128GB thanks to a MicroSD card slot.

The tablet packs in two cameras Рa 2MP sensor on the front and a higher-quality 5MP option with autofocus on the back. It also comes with a miniHDMI port to out video to your big-screen TV, while power is provided by a 3450mAh Lithium-ion battery. At this stage, there are few details on actual battery life.

As we mentioned, the tablet is now on sale for Y899 – about $150, but the cheapest we’ve seen on Aliexpress is $179. If you see it cheaper, let us know in the comments below.
