AllFine Fine7 Genius does quad-core tablet for just Y399 $(US65)

fine7geniusThe Chinese tablet market is no place for the feint-hearted but it now seems to be getting to almost manic proportions with news that Chinese tablet brand AllFine has come out with what has to be the cheapest quad-core tablet of all time in the AllFine Fine7 Genius.

The new 7-inch tablet comes with a 1.2GHz Actions Semi ATM7029 quad-core SoC CPU for just Y399 ($US65). What’s more, AllFine is reported as saying it comes with a 7-inch I-PS Hitachi-brand touchscreen panel with 1024×600-pixel resolution. According to Chinese website Hexun, the Fine7 Genius comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) but an update to Android 4.2 is being worked on.

The battery is a 3000mAh Lithium-ion type, said to be good for five hours (which suggests an average power consumption of 600mA). Weight is reported at just only 300 grams.

As for storage, it’s said to come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board flash, which can be expanded via MicroSD card, up to 32GB per card.

The Actions Semi ATM7029 isn’t the fastest quad-core SoC CPU on the market but it’s a genuine quad-core nonetheless, which makes the price here seem fairly spectacular. We can’t vouch for the build quality, but at this price, theĀ AllFine Fine7 GeniusĀ is certainly worthy of further investigation and should outperform the majority of dual-core and definitely single-core tablets you can still find at this price.

Just to check that price, we’ve had a quick look online and Banggood.com is selling it for $US89 but Taobao has it for just Y389.
