ViewSonic ViewPad 7Q 7-inch tablet features GPS module, quad-core CPU

US-based visual technology brand ViewSonic is about to release a new 7-inch tablet on the market called the ViewSonic ViewPad 7Q.

Inside, you’ll find a decent mix of options, such as MediaTek’s 1.2GHz MTK8389 quad-core Cortex A7 processor and 1GB of DDR3 RAM to run your apps.

The display is a 7.0-inch/1024×600-pixel resolution LCD touchscreen panel that gets some decent gaming performance thanks to the MediaTek chip’s build-in PowerVR SGX544 graphics core.

You’ll see 16GB of on-board flash for built-in storage, while there’s MicroSD, up to 32GB per card, for external space and it’s preloaded with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The tablet comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a built-in GPS module so you can use it as a navigation device, although remember that GPS usually adds a significant drain on battery life.

You can capture still images via the 2MP camera on the back of the device or simply use the front-facing VGA camera for personal shots. According to reports, the¬†ViewSonic ViewPad 7Q¬†has just been announced in China, but we don’t have pricing or release dates just yet.
