IBEN L1 quad-core portable console to arrive July

ibenl1There’s been plenty happening in the world of gaming and we’ve seen a couple of portable Android gaming consoles turn up in the last few weeks.¬†According to androidpc.es, there’s another on the way called the IBEN L1.

This compact model features a quad-core Allwinner A31 SoC CPU coupled with a 7.0-inch I-PS LCD touchscreen panel featuring decent 1280×800-pixel resolution.¬†It’ll come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board flash plus Android 4.1 operating system pre-loaded.

What makes it impressive is the $US150 price tag going with it. It’s unusual to see a 7.0-inch tablet with this resolution, certainly at this price.

This looks to be the first product for IBEN and it’ll be available on the IBEN store, according to the company, in the first week of July.

The console features a 5500mAh Lithium-ion battery but at this stage, there’s no detail on battery life.

Going with the A31 SoC CPU is a sensible move as the PowerVR SGX544 Mp2 graphics core inside the processor is a decent performer and acknowledged by some to be a better alternative to the Mali-400 MP4 engine used in some competitive CPUs.
