Sprint announces new HTC 8XT smartphone this summer

htc8xtUS network carrier Sprint has announced a new HTC smartphone to arrive on its network this summer. Among the list of features filling out the HTC 8XT are a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor to handle the major functions and an entry-level 480 x 800-pixel resolution panel, measuring 4.3 inches.

Also, you get a cache of 1GB of RAM to play with, while the 4.3-inch display is driven by the Snapdragon 400′s Adreno 305 graphics processing core.

There’s on-board storage through an 8GB cache of built-in flash memory while external storage for larger files is provided by microSD, up to 64GB. It features Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system pre-loaded.

Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi will be included but at time of publishing exact specifications are yet to be announced. Network coverage is handled over 2G through its 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz band support.

An 8MP (3264 x 2448 pixels) with autofocus image sensor on the back delivers the device’s best photo quality and you get a secondary 1.6 MP option on the front for video-conferencing. You can also capture video with the device at up to 1080p@30fps.

The device’s weight and dimensions are yet to be announced. The product was announced back in June 2013.
