New CUBE U25GT dual-core 7-inch tablet, only Y339 ($57)

cubeu25gtMore busy times lay ahead for Chinese tablet maker CUBE with a new device hitting the market. We’ve got details on the CUBE U25GT, starting with a 1.2GHz Rockchip RK3168 dual-core Cortex A7 chip powering the engine room and a cache of 512MB RAM of RAM to play with.

Further, it comes with a 1024×600-pixel resolution panel built from TFT LCD technology, measuring 7.0 inches and driven by the RK3168′s PowerVR SGX540 core to handle graphics-intensive apps and games.

You’ll see 8GB of on-board flash for built-in storage, while there’s MicroSD, up to 32GB, to provide bulk space outside of the device. The operating system is Android 4.2.2 to give you access to more apps. Next, Wi-Fi is included in the form of 802.11b/g/n-standard options, but unfortunately, there’s no Bluetooth on-board. There’s also no HDMI output, which is probably not surprising given the very tight Y339 ($57) pricing (we are concerned about reports of this price as it seems lower than we’d expect – some retailers are selling this unit for $US79. Our tip? Shop around.

For photography, you only get a basic VGA sensor on the front and there’s no word on video recording.

The CUBE U25GT measures 191 x 116 x 10mm, however weight details were not to hand at time of publishing. The device was announced first in May 2013.

NOTE: All specifications are subject to change and may not be correct at time of purchase. Please check before you buy any device that it meets your expectations and requirements.
