LG’s most recent big-screen phone has just topped one million sales in South Korea. According to engadget, the phone reached the milestone three months faster than the previous record holder, the Optimus LTE.
The LG Optimus G Pro E985 includes as much as 2 GB of memory under the glass and a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 SoC (system on a chip) CPU clocking in at up to 1.7GHz.
There’s a 5.5-inch display using IPS Plus LCD capacitive touchscreen technology with 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution, driven by an Adreno 320 graphics processor core that handles gaming and graphics-intensive apps.
A 32 GB cache of internal flash delivers on-board storage, while microSD, up to 64 GB, provides external storage to the device for more and larger files. Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) gets a run here, although there’s no word on an update to Android 4.2.2.
As for electrical power, talk time is up to 15 hours and it will last up to 576 hours in standby mode, thanks to its massive 3140mAh Li-Polymer battery.
There are plenty of Wi-Fi options available with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on-board and low-power wireless is handled by Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, so it doesn’t get any better than that. There’s basic 2G coverage on networks supporting the 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz bands while 3G is covered by 900 / 2100 or 850 / 900 / 2100MHz bands, depending on the model.
The phone delivers high-quality photos, thanks to its 13 MP (4208 x 3120 pixels) with autofocus image sensor on the back and you get a simpler 2.1 MP camera on the front. It’ll also handles itself as a videocam with support for up to 1080p@30fps.
The LG Optimus G Pro E985 weights in at 172 grams and has external dimensions of 150.2 x 76.1 x 9.4 mm. The device was announced first in February 2013.
