One of Huawei’s recent releases, the Ascend Y300 has amongst its features, a Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon processor powering on with a 1GHz CPU clock rate and an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen panel with 480 x 800-pixels resolution within its 4.0-inch frame.
Also, you get up to 512 MB of memory to keep things on the boil, while an Adreno 203 core keeps the display panel busy, supporting apps and games.
You get on-board storage, taken care of by 4GB of flash while external space can be had through microSD, up to 32 GB for files that won’t fit inside. The operating system running the unit comes courtesy of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). And for power, its on-board 1730mAh Li-Ion battery will deliver 320 hours in standby and 5 hours talk time.
In addition, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP covers wireless personal communications and wide area network connectivity comes in the form of 802.11 b/g/n-standard Wi-Fi. Coverage is handled over 2G through its 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz band support and 900 / 2100MHz bands for 3G networks.
You can capture still images via the 5 MP (2592×1944 pixels) with autofocus camera on the back of the device or simply use the front-facing VGA camera for personal shots. The device doubles as a videocam but only with support for up to 480p@30fps.
The device’s weight tips the scales at 130 grams while its dimensions are 124.5 x 63.8 x 11.2 mm. Huawei announced this new model back in March 2013.
