Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.0 N5100 includes a raft of features, such as 2GB of memory to run your apps and an Exynos 4412 quad-core processor powering on with a 1.6GHz CPU clock rate.
Inside, there’s a TFT capacitive touchscreen panel, measuring 8.0 inches and housing 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, also the 8.0-inch display is driven by the Exynos 4412′s Mali-400MP graphics processing core.
You’ll see 16/32 GB of on-board flash for built-in storage while microSD, up to 64 GB, will deliver external space to load in whatever you want. You’ll find Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) lurking inside to run on the device. And for power, the device includes a 4600mAh Lithium-ion (non-removable) battery, said to be good for up to eight hours’ talk time but unfortunately, no standby times were available at time of publishing.
Getting external devices connected to the unit is simple – your big-screen TV will get a work-out, thanks to its MHL (Mobile High-definition Link) port, which converts USB to HDMI, while it has external devices covered with its USB OTG (on the go) port included. Next, Wi-Fi options abound with 802.11 a/b/g/n included in the design and you get Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP to handle low-power communications. There’s basic 2G coverage on networks supporting the 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz bands while 3G is covered by 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz bands.
There’s a front-facing 1.3 MP camera but the device’s best quality photos are captured by the main 5 MP (2592×1944 pixels) with autofocus image sensor on the back. You can also capture video with the device at up to 720p@30fps.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 N5100 lands on the scales with 338 grams and measures 210.8 x 135.9 x 8 mm. Samsung announced this new model back in February 2013.
