Gigabyte has released its next device to arrive on the scene. The Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1 will deliver a range of features, including up to 512 MB of memory on-board and a fast Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon SoC or ‘system on a chip’ processor with a clock speed of up to 1GHz.
Inside, it features an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen panel with 480 x 800 pixels resolution within its 4.0-inch frame, also the 4.0-inch panel has a basic Adreno 203 core to handle graphics-intensive apps and games.
There’s 4 GB of built-in flash for storage inside the Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1 while you can use microSD, up to 32 GB, to provide extra storage for the device. Its internally run by Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to maximise performance. And for power, you’ll see around 5 hours talk time and up to 135 hours in standby mode through its 1500mAh Li-Ion battery.
In addition, low-power wireless is handled by Bluetooth v3.0 and there is good wireless connectivity available with 802.11 b/g/n built-in. There’s basic 2G coverage on networks supporting the 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz bands while 3G is covered by the standard HSDPA frequency bands.
The device delivers high-quality photos, thanks to its 5 MP (2592 x 1944 pixels) with autofocus image sensor on the back and you get a simpler VGA camera on the front. Its also capable of capturing video at up to 720p.
The Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1 measures 124.2 x 63.8 x 10.5 mm and has a comfortable weight at 130.5 grams. The announcement date for this unit was back in April 2013.
