Specifications – Sony Xperia M smartphone

Sony has released its next device to arrive on the scene. It’s called the Sony Xperia M and amongst its features, it includes a quick Qualcomm Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227 processor that delivers the phone’s major functionality while clocking along at 1GHz and a 4.0-inch display using TFT capacitive touchscreen technology with 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

Also, up to 1 GB of RAM on-board, while an Adreno 305 core inside the processor powers that 4.0-inch panel.

There’s on-board storage through a 4 GB cache of built-in flash memory and microSD, up to 32 GB, to provide bulk space outside of the device. Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) is the operating system behind the device keeping it going. And for power, the battery – a 1750mAh Li-Ion type – can last for 10 hours talk and 498 hours in standby mode.

Next, there is good wireless connectivity available with 802.11 a/b/g/n built-in and low-power wireless is handled by Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP. There’s basic 2G coverage on networks supporting the 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz bands while 3G is covered by 900 / 2100MHz bands.

The device delivers high-quality photos, thanks to its 5 MP (2592 x 1944 pixels) with autofocus image sensor on the back and you get a simpler VGA camera on the front. The device doubles as a videocam with support for up to 720p@30fps.

The Sony Xperia M measures 124 x 62 x 9.3 mm and has a comfortable weight at 115 grams. Sony announced this new model in June 2013.
